Atlantis was formed in
1984 as a holding company with interests initially in
insurance and then later the furniture industry. From 1986
through 1994, Atlantis made a series of plastics-related
acquisitions, the largest of which was Linear Films, Inc.,
a publicly traded company and a leading manufacturer of
high-quality stretch films based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In
1987, the Company completed an initial public offering and
began trading on the American Stock Exchange under the
symbol AGH. In 1994, the Company merged its Linear and
Custom Films Divisions to form Atlantis Plastic Films,
Inc. In 2005, the Company switched to the NASDAQ Stock
Market and began trading under the new symbol: ATPL.
The Company has three
business segments, Plastic Films, Injection Molding and
Profile Extrusion, which are comprised of Atlantis’s five
operating divisions. The Injection Molding and Profile
Extrusion divisions service the Building Products
business.
